The world is interconnected and interdependent in ways fascinating and frightening. Every minute of every day, the activity and pursuits of people in one part of the globe are touching those of people in another. That creative interaction has spurred tremendous advancements and economic growth, but it also threatens the ability of our planet to sustain its citizens and is straining large groups of people already living on the razor’s edge of poverty.
Understanding the interconnected issues of globalization, sustainability and poverty requires many voices and many perspectives. In Assignment Global, I will track relevant news and ideas on these issues. I hope to create an interactive forum of journalists, citizens and experts on some of the most vexing challenges of our time.
